Welcome to the North East of England. Introduction to some of the places to visit in the North East of England. Some people may never have considered a holiday to the North East of England, but as we had such a great time on holiday there, and found so much to do and so many places to visit, I decided to put a website together to show the many photographs that I have taken in so many interesting and beautiful places. This will hopefully persuade many more people to take advantage of all that the North East of England has to offer. My wife and I are not from the North East, therefore the views expressed are not biased, and are based purely on the excellent experiences that we had, and especially in meeting some of the wonderfully amiable people that reside thereabouts. We stopped in family run bed and breakfast accommodation on the seafront in Roker, - a lovely place - and using there as a base travelled around Sunderland, Newcastle, Durham and Northumberland, taking in much of the natural, industrial, and especially Roman history that is so abundant in the North East of England. We were also fortunate to have been in the North East at the time of the annual Sunderland International Air Show, an event not to be missed, which attracts around one million visitors a year. I would like to thank Mr John Snaith and the rest of the staff of the Chaise Hotel in Roker, Sunderland, whose hilarious sense of humour made the time we spent at his accommodation such a great pleasure. In particular I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our best friends - Mike and Jen Robinson, without whose local knowledge our enjoyment of the North East would have been greatly diminished. Please click on any link on the left of the page to share the photographs and places that we visited.
