Sunderland International Air Show, Biplane Stunt Riders - July 2007

Sunderland International Air Show, Biplane Stunt Riders - July 2007.

The Sunderland International Air Show attracts up to one million people over a two day period in August. Little surprise then that it is two days in the North East of England calendar not to be missed.

As with most events, the Sunderland International Air Show is wholly reliant on the weather, but when the sun shines, the fun begins. The British Armed Forces are heavily involved, with sections of the Army, Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force giving their all for our enjoyment.

Civilian pilots and wing walkers, biplane and single wing stunt planes, helicopters, and the remarkable Eurofighter, plus much, much more - all take part in the spectacular show.

On the ground there is much to see and do, and various displays involving the Armed Forces, (I particularly enjoyed the Royal Marines self defence display, and as an ex forces trumpeter myself, I enjoyed the Royal Marine Band playing in full regalia), and there are lots of stalls with a myriad of interesting things to see and do. The Sunderland International Air Show - a couple of excellently interesting days.
